Alexander “Alex” Ramos Caragan was born on May 19, 1981, in San Diego, California, to Armando Crisostomo Caragan and Linda Ramos Caragan. He is survived by his parents and his siblings, Christopher, Michelle, and Tiffany.
Alex graduated from St. Augustine High School, where he formed enduring friendships and first cultivated his interest in creativity and technology. He later earned a degree in electrical engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, followed by an additional degree in graphic arts. This combination of artistic ability and technical expertise shaped both his professional pursuits and his personal identity.
His creativity extended well beyond his professional endeavors. Alex took great care in documenting family life through photography, transforming everyday moments into vivid digital art. He also found enjoyment in playing classic video games and building model airplanes, hobbies that reflected his imagination, patience, and steady attention to detail.
Alex was a passionate San Diego Padres fan who followed every season with enthusiasm, especially when he could cheer (and sometimes boo) from the stands at Petco Park. He held onto the hope that one day the Padres will win the World Series, a wish he carried with unwavering loyalty.
Alex was a dedicated member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where he was known for his reliability, kindness, and quiet generosity. He offered his time freely, assisting with parish events and extending help to anyone in need.
He had a remarkable ability to bring people together. Alex was happiest at family gatherings celebrating birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries, where his warm presence made others feel welcome. He had a great fondness for 1980s memorabilia, and his lifelong enjoyment of “Roots, Rock, & Reggae” music reflected a playful spirit and a deep sense of nostalgia that stayed with him throughout his life.
But of all the things he loved, nothing meant more to him than being an uncle. Elijah, Mikaela, and Rebecca were the lights of his world. He treasured every shared joke, every outing, every quiet moment spent together. To them, he wasn’t just Alex, he was “Uncle Alex,” a title he carried with pride and joy.
Alex will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his generosity, and the care he brought to everything he did. May Alex rest in eternal peace, held in God’s gentle embrace. His family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shared during this time, and for every person who cherished him throughout his life.
