Alfonso Agringo Corpuz Jr., 65, passed away on September 25, 2026. Born on January 31, 1961, Alfonso’s life was marked by steady devotion—to family, to faith, and to the work set before him—carried out with a kind heart, a compassionate spirit, and a quiet humor that could soften even the hardest day.
A resident of San Diego, California, Alfonso will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude by all who had the privilege to know him.
Born in the Philippines, Alfonso was the son of Alfonso Padua Corpuz Sr. and Victoria Agringo. He shared his early years with his siblings, Adelia, Norma, Lilibeth and Rodolfo, in a family circle that helped shape the faithful, hardworking man he would become—someone who offered care without fanfare and showed love through steadfast presence.
Alfonso served for 20 years in the Navy, working as an aircraft mechanic on an aircraft carrier. His dedication to duty and the pride he took in doing things well reflected a lifelong commitment to service. He also served as a Navy recruiter, bringing the same sincerity and grounded warmth to guiding others that he carried into every part of his life.
For 41 years, Alfonso was married to his wife, Araceli, building a home rooted in devotion and enduring partnership. Together they raised their three children—one son, Christopher, and two daughters, Vanessa and Cecille. He was also a proud grandfather to his two granddaughters, Lenny and Alanna, and he cherished the joy and meaning family brought to his days.
In quieter moments, Alfonso found happiness in cooking and gardening, simple pleasures that reflected his generous nature and the care he took in providing for others. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, an interest that suited his easygoing humor and appreciation for life’s small diversions.
Alfonso’s words, “be true to yourself and live your life to the fullest,” remain a fitting reflection of the steady, faithful example he set. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
