Arcelia was born on November 28, 1959 in Los Angeles, California. To Pedro and Estela Salazar, she was 1 of 8 children. At the age of 14 the family relocated from Los Angeles to San Ysidro, where she eventually raised a family. She had set a goal for herself to receive her G.E.D before her son graduated high school, she accomplished it 2 months before he did. She also loved and took pride in her job where she worked for 15 years. She received employee of the year award in 2004. Arcelia was a strong woman, she raised 2 children on her own, and truly lived for them.
When people think of her they remember her smile, her laugh, and her love for singing and dancing at work and family gatherings. She had the biggest heart and was the most caring and giving person, always willing to help whom ever and however she could. She always wanted to help the less fortunate, and when she would give them a dollar she would say, “ I’m not going to go broke because I give them a dollar.” She also wanted to win the lottery, the first thing she planned to do with her winnings was help the orphan children in Tijuana and build more homeless shelters. You see, she always wanted to help others, even though most of the time she didn’t have much to give but that is who she was.
Arcelia is survived by her children; Enrique 33, Desiree 26 and grandson Logan 6. Her mother Estela, siblings Angelica, Albert, Victor, Blanca, Monica, Joey and her nieces and nephews.
