She was the eldest of four, born on October 11, 1952 in Bulacan, Philippines to parents Emiliana and Domingo Bartolome. In the 1980s, she emigrated to the United States where she would welcome three daughters with then husband Romeo Atrero. For Arsenia, San Diego became home.
Arsenia spent over forty years helping others look and feel their best as a cosmetologist and was known by many to be a hard worker. She was often reserved and stern, having gifted only the lucky ones with her silliness, friendship, storytelling, generosity, and love for music, animals, and plants. She never took life’s simplicities for granted and was often seen enjoying fresh air on a swing, eating out at favorite restaurants, chatting with friends and family, or spending time with her pets. To her daughters and grandchildren, she gifted the incredible lesson of sensible living and how to maneuver through an economically challenging world. She had a fighter's spirit and will be remembered for her tenacity, independent nature, guidance, and willfulness.
She will be eternally honored for her devotion to family, faith in God, and unyielding support of charities. For her graciousness toward her family, especially in her later years, she leaves behind a legacy of commitment to family worthy of modeling.
Arsenia leaves behind many friends and family who loved her dearly. She is survived and deeply missed by her three daughters: Nina Mae, Nina Rose, and Eleonor.
A memorial service for Arsenia will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Chapel of the Roses, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
