Arturo Franco Molina, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of August 28, 2025, in San Diego, California. Born on February 7, 1954, in Mexicali, Mexico, Arturo was one of nine children of Jesus and Catalina Molina.
He is survived by his wife, M. Elena, and his only daughter, Dr. Iliana Molina. Arturo was a proud and loving grandfather to Carolina Isabelle and Santiago Alejandro, who were his biggest joy.
Arturo dedicated much of his life to addiction recovery, celebrating over 25 years of sobriety. He served as a drug court counselor, guiding countless individuals toward healing and hope. Even after retirement, he remained deeply committed to the recovery community, attending NA meetings and supporting graduates of the program. His compassion and strength touched many lives.
A man of faith, Arturo was a devout churchgoer and found joy in preparing lunches for his daughter and grandchildren. He was also a passionate sports fan—his heart belonged to the New York Yankees, with the San Diego Padres a close second. He cheered for Club América and Real Madrid in soccer, and his home was always filled with the sound of sports commentary and lively debates about referees and game strategies.
Arturo was known for his loud, short phone calls, his stern but caring demeanor with clients, and his unwavering love for those who struggled. His presence was powerful, his laughter unforgettable, and his legacy enduring.
Though Arturo’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit continues to inspire and uplift all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing, and may we honor his legacy through love, compassion, and service.
