

He grew up in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur with his sisters and brother: Guadalupe, Susanna, Adelaida, Estela, Natividad, Virginia and Orlando.
Asuncion attended Ilocos Sur High and graduated from Mar Vista High School in San Diego, California. He went on to study Sociology in Southwestern College.
Asuncion married Teresita Alconcel in March 19, 1956 in Caoayan Cathedral in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur. Asuncion had 5 children: Donna Caruso (Daughter), Maritess Watkins (Daughter), Arlene Bermio (Daughter), Melvin Bermio (Son) and Amy Navarro (Daughter). Over time, Asuncion's family has grown to include 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Asuncion proudly served in the United States Navy for 22 years, obtaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After leaving the Navy, he worker for the United States Post Office for 18 years.
Asuncion was a wonderful cook. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to the casino.
Asuncion passed away on October 24, 2013 in San Diego, California. He is survived by: Donna Caruso (Daughter), Maritess Watkins (Daughter), Arlene Bermio (Daughter), Melvin Bermio(Son), Adelaida (Sister), Estela (Sister), Natividad (Sister), Virginia (Sister), Orlando (Brother), 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
His viewing will be on November 7 and 8 from 5-9 pm at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel. His funeral service will be at St. Charles church on November 9 at 12:00 with a graveside committal at Glen Abbey Memorial Park immediately following the service at St. Charles church.
