

Aurora Mateo Hizon, 95, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Orion, Bataan, Philippines, to Jose and Isidora Mateo, Aurora was the beloved wife of Romeo Hizon and a devoted mother of four. In late 1968, the family immigrated to the United States, where they welcomed their youngest child in 1970. As a dedicated Navy wife, Aurora often managed the household and raised her children while her husband served. She was an adored grandmother to eight and a great-grandmother to seven.
Aurora will be remembered for her grace, beauty, and unwavering faith. A devoted Catholic, she found strength and comfort in daily prayer. Her love was most evident in the meals she prepared, making sure no one ever left her table hungry. Aurora was known for her amazing cooking, love of plants, and fashion.
Aurora is survived by her children, Romeo Hizon Jr., Agnes Fitzgerald, Ricky Hizon, and Arlen Hizon; her grandchildren, Romeo III, Nikayla, Matthew, Conner, Samuel, Nolan, Eric, and Lily; her great-grandchildren, RJ, Veda, Ollie, Layla, Cici, Hazel, and Theo; and her sisters, Angeles and Gloria. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
