Our family unexpectedly lost our family's matriarch, Bessie Pacis Dumpit, on April 7, 2023. She was 98 years old and 8 days shy of her 99th birthday. Born on April 15,1924, Bessie spent 98 wonderful years spreading joy to everyone around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent caring for her family, her friends, she was an amazing cook and was extremely generous with anyone who was around during meal time.
Early in life, Bessie met Bonnie (Bonifacio) and they became penpals who would later marry on December 14,1943. Little did she know this was the beginning of a large, sprawling family -- something that gave her much joy in life. They enjoyed over 58 years together until his death in May 20, 2002. Bessie enjoyed being busy and loved spending her time outdoors walking, gardening and traveling. She loved to cook and she is best known for her pinakbet, longanisa, tapa and fried chicken.
Bessie was a beautiful, kindhearted, caring person inside and out. Her welcoming nature would make anyone feel as though you are her child. Her smile was so stunning that it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her and she made an impact on so many lives, that we all carry a piece of her in our hearts. She poured her heart out on all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be forever missed as she has been our light and guidance throughout these years.
Bessie was predeceased (now in heaven) by her husband, Bonifacio, mother, Peña, father, Teodulo Sr., brother, Teodolo Jr., sister Estela and half-sister Rose, along with Rico, Gerhard and Mhyleen and her 2 infant children.
