

Betty Ann Shaw left this earthly world to join her Lord on January 17, 2023. Betty passed away surrounded by family. Betty was born on September 13, 1948 to her late parents Maurice & Lenora Snyder in Canastota, New York. She also had the nickname “Betty Boop”.
Betty has lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and finally settled in California in 1979. In 1987 she married Robert William Shaw. And in 1989 they moved to Chula Vista where they lived until now. Betty’s last job before retiring was a school bus driver for the Chula Vista School District. She loved driving the big yellow bus. Even before retiring Bob and her loved traveling to different places in their RV. She loved to go to the river and go fishing. She even traveled to Oregon a few times to go salmon fishing. She loved being out on the water either in the boat or kayak. She loved to play the piano. She has always loved doing crafts; like crocheting, scrapbooking, embroidery, cross stitching, and sewing. She has made some of the most beautiful quilts you will ever see.
Betty is survived by her children & their spouses: Jacquelyn Willbanks of Tyler, TX; Michele Freel & Matthew Murphy of Chula Vista, CA; Rosemarie & Luis Soltero of Menifee, CA; Robert Jr & Valerie Shaw of San Diego, CA; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and her brothers & sister-in-laws John & Nancy Snyder and Darwin & Elaine Snyder, and many other family members & friends that loved her dearly. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 brothers, and sister.
