Braulio Soliven Ellorin known by many as "Rully" was born on March 21, 1950 in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines. The eldest son of Floren and Crispina Ellorin, and a loving brother to Ben, Emo and Julie Ellorin. Braulio graduated in 1969 from Urdaneta high school and later attended the University of Pangasinan Philippines from 1970 to 1975. Braulio met his beautiful wife Dolora Ruiz Perez during his first year in college. Braulio and Dolora fell in love and got married on October 26, 1975.
Braulio enlisted into the United States Navy in 1975 shortly after he was married, hoping one day to capture the American dream. He left the Philippines to start a new chapter of his life in America. On February 17, 1978 Braulio and Dolora Ellorin became the proud parents to their only son Dexter Perez Ellorin. In 1980 two years after the birth of their son, Dolora and Dexter came to America to reunite with Braulio. In 1983 Braulio took his family and moved to San Diego, California where he was stationed for the remaining of his naval career.
Braulio served 20 years in the United States Navy, out of his many achievements and accomplishments the one thing he was very honored and proud of, was his role of recruit company commander. He had the opportunity and honor to train over 1,000 recruits and molded their young minds to be the best sailors of today. Braulio retired from his amazing career in 1994.
After retiring from the military, Braulio was still motivated to work and in 1995 was hired on to the United States Postal Service. Early in his career he started out as a letter carrier and eventually crossing over to the maintenance field. Braulio had 16 wonderful years with the post office and a total of 36 years of federal government service.
In January of 2000 he fell in love with his new friend our family dog Rigiding. Braulio and Rigiding were very much inseparable, he loved and cared for his dog so much. Rigiding will truly miss her master and best friend.
One of Braulio's happiest moments is when he witnessed his son Dexter marry his daughter in-law Belen G. Humilde. On January 2, 2009 he witnessed his only son marry the love of his life. Braulio was so eager and happy to welcome his daughter in-law Belen H. Ellorin to the family. Braulio's happiest day of his life was when he witnessed the birth of his beautiful granddaughter Ava Teresa Humilde Ellorin born on February 23, 2009.
Braulio had many hobbies cooking, singing, dancing, playing his guitar just to name a few, but his best hobby and what he looked forward to each and every day was spending time with Ava. Braulio and Ava would dance, sing, play with each other endlessly; he loved being with Ava, a truly dedicated Grandfather to his Granddaughter. Braulio did not get the opportunity to meet his Grandson, but I know, 10 weeks from now when he is born he will be there spiritually and give his strength.
Braulio Soliven Ellorin is survived by his loving wife Dolora, his son Dexter, daughter in law Belen, granddaughter Ava and his grandson Jadon Rully.
Braulio Soliven Ellorin was full of life, a saint and miracle worker for God. He was an inspiration to everyone he touched and loved. Braulio's shoes can never be filled, but I'll tell you this, I promise you Dad I will do my best to be just like you. My Father may not be here physically but his spirit is alive and strong within his family. May you rest in peace Dad, please give us the strength to overcome these hard times. We love you always and forever...
