Caridad “Caring” Ramirez Ramos Dela Cruz was born July 2, 1932 in Baliwag, Bulacan to Nicolas Ramos, from Baliwag, Bulacan, & Faustina Ramirez, from Caridad City, Cavite. The 7th child of 15 children, she grew up in the ancestral home in Baesa, Quezon City.
She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Education at Philippine Normal College and earned her Master’s degree in Physical Education at University of the Philippines, Quezon City.
From 1963 to 1985, she took over her late husband’s profession as a Private Land Surveyor and became a licensed Real Estate Broker. As a strong single mother, Caring raised and put her 7 children through college by selling properties across the Philippines and by managing the land surveying family business.
In a time where most drivers were men, she became one of the first women to earn her driver’s license in the Philippines. With independence and prosperity as a working woman, Caring shared her generosity as an obedient daughter and reliable sibling who funded her nieces and nephews’ college education.
In 1986, Caring migrated to the United States. She became a caring grandmother to her small grandchildren, while her children built their homes and careers in San Diego, California.
Caring was an energetic, independent, and strong woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. At 60 years old, she was diagnosed diabetic and endured a successful bypass surgery at 69 years old. On January 14, 2020, she overcame a mild stroke.
Caring passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on February 26, 2020. She is survived by 2 remaining brothers Felipe & Damaso Ramos, 7 children, 17 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was a praying mother who believed that God was with her throughout all her life. The very last thing she asked for was prayer, before her earthly life ended. Caring rests in peace, no longer in her loved ones’ arms but now in the arms of Jesus, her personal Lord & Savior.
