Carlita Santos Alfonso, wife, mother, grandmother/great grandmother, sister and friend was born on November 4th, 1942 in Zaragosa Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Carlita is the 6th child amongst the 9 children born by Consuelo Lindain and Conrado Garces Santos. Carlita grew up in the town of San Jose city, finished high school at North Public School, where she later went on to complete her degree at Central Luzon State University, as a nutritionist.
In addition to caring for her family, a notable accomplishment is the 20+ years she spent working as an LVN with Bayer Inc., Alpha Therapeutics and Horizon Adult Day Care.
Prior to migrating to the US, she met the love of her life, a United States Navy man named, Rodolfo Feleo Alfonso. Carlita and Rodolfo eventually moved to the United States where they would live their lives and start a family. In 1969, Carlita would give birth to her first-born son, Roderick Santos Alfonso, and a short two years later, she gave birth to her baby girl, Carlyn Santos Alfonso. Carlita and Rodolfo were married for 50 years before Rodolfo succumbed to his illness and passed away in 2018. Carlita is survived by her two children (Roderick & Carlyn), her eight grandchildren (John-Alan & Rosanne, Roderick Jr., Jennavie N. & Ramon, Jalissa, Jasmine, Rihiana, Ciana, and Tatiana), her 2 great grandchildren (Rodolfo E. & Jennavie E.), and her two sisters (Aida & Jacinta).
Carlita loved spending time with her family. Some of her favorite past times include daily walks with her husband, singing karaoke, dancing the electric slide, cooking, and playing bingo. Even as a survivor of breast cancer she never let anything prevent her from doing the things, she loved the most, until her Alzheimer’s/Dementia diagnosis. Carlita lived with Alzheimer’s/Dementia for approximately 8 years before god called her home on September 6th, 2024.
Carlita will forever be remembered by her generosity, beautiful smile, caring soul, and her everlasting love she has for her family.
Rest in Peace Lola. May your afterlife, reunited with Lolo, be just as amazing as your life on earth.
Mahal Kita.
