

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Carmen was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Carmen will be remembered as an exceptional person.
Carmen’s life journey began on April 8, 1958. She first greeted the world in Manila, Philippines. Her parents' were Rafael C. and Avelina G. Lacar. She was raised with five brothers Gabriel, Rey, Danilo, Ricardo, Oscar and one sister Victoria.
Carmen was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She attended and graduated from R. Magasaysay High. Carmen attended the University of Santo Tomas and earned her B.S. degree in Nursing.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Carmen experienced that with Raul Lavadia. Empathic and loyal, Carmen was committed to making her new family happy.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Carmen enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Carmen worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Carmen worked at Scripps Memorial Hospital as an ICU-RN for 15 years and at Sharp Grossmont Hospital ICU also as a RN from 2010 through July 2013.
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Carmen enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including playing the guitar, singing, reading and teaching. She was usually willing to share her interests with others.
Carmen Lacar Ladavia left us on July 26, 2013. She passed away Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California. The cause of death was due to Myocardial Infarction. She is survived by her husband Raul, her mother Avelina, her sister Victoria, brothers Gabriel, Ricardo, Rey, Danilo and Oscar along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held at The Little Chapel of the Roses at Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Carmen will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
So this is Carmen’s life, the sum of the woman that she became. Simply stated, Carmen was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Carmen leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Carmen Lacar Ladavia touched will always remember her with a smile.
