Mike was born in Oxnard, CA and grew up in Clairemont. He was a true California boy. He enjoyed sports and surfing with his boys.
You could find him either on a basketball court coaching or shooting hoops, kicking around a soccer ball with his kids or teams or riding the waves on his longboard with family and friends and enjoying a good game of baseball as short stop.
Mike and Karen enjoyed over fifty wonderful years together filled with faith, love, laughter and countless memories. They cherished their time together holding hands and watching the sunset, volunteering at St. Pius x Church and enjoyed creating memorable moments with their children, grandchildren and friends. Mike always had a willingness to serve and a quiet devotion to the people he loved.
Mike's career was with Von's as a shipping and receiving clerk.
Upon retirement, he enjoyed being an Ambassador at Riverwalk Golf Course and then his ultimate job of a lifetime- working for the San Diego Padres.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen, his sons, Michael and Krissy, Charles and wife Jessica. His grandchildren: Issac, Jacob and his wife Lakota, granddaughter Madison and great grandson Ryver. His brother Fred and his wife Trudy and family. He was blessed to have many loving family members in his life and dear and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrell Fred and Ruth Ann Koehler, and brother Walter.
Rosary will be Saturday, October 17 at 9:00 am at St. Pius X Church, Chula Vista, 1120 Cuyamaca Avenue. Followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. A private family burial following his funeral mass.
