I loved .y uncle Charles he taught me how to drive and gave me my first car

Our condolences go out to your family at this time. I am a Perkins, and my father (Arnett Perkins) was born in Sutton, West Virginia who would have been Charles cousin.
My grandfather was Nelson Perkins the oldest of Milton and Marah Perkins children. Over the years I have met Rita and the rest of some of our Perkins Family and I go to the Black Heritage Festival in Clarksburg, WV every other year.
I am keeping up with our family history and recently we lost Sue Perkins (Barbara Mother ) a few years ago.
Please stay in contact I been working on our Family History since 2002 and Rita was a big help.

🎶And to many moooooooooooooooore 🎶

I will miss our long walks
I will miss our long talks
Whenever I had a question or thought
You were always there and graciously taught
I will miss the sound of them call your name
I will hold your hand, there is no more pain
When you told me your stories, I’d hear trumpets sing
Jesus Christ was your way
Jesus Christ is King
I miss you
I miss you
I miss you so much
I will miss
I will miss
Your gentle touch
I will miss the sound of your voice call my name
I will miss you singing so I can be calm and lay
My King
My God
My Everything
Father, please guide me
Watch over our tree
You are my will power and my eyes to see
I love you dad
You’re my everything
Until we meet again
You’re forever my King

In our city of Youngstown, Ohio, there is the fabulous "Mill Creek Park", a nature reserve right smack inside the city limits. Charles enjoyed hiking in "The Park", fishing and doing a bit of hill climbing there. I grew up in a house that was less than a block away from that park.
One day, Charles came over for a visit and decided to take a hike in The Park, and after several hours he came back to our house...with a very, very large turtle...
He shook that turtle at me and said "Turtle Soup!"! Mom came out and she looked at me and said, "You have never had turtle soup...I'm going to make you boys a big pot of turtle soup".
Some hours later, we sat down at the kitchen table, my Mom, Charles and me...eating bowls of delicious turtle soup. As we ate, the radio, which was always turned on in Mom's kitchen, started their community announcements, during which they reported that someone in our area was looking for their "missing pet turtle"!
That spurred the biggest laugh that the three of us ever shared...and btw, turtle soup is still my favorite meal...by far.
