Cielo Villaflor Delgado

January 29, 1948June 5, 2021

Cielo Villaflor Delgado was a loving wife, mother, Lola, sister, friend and devoted follower of Jesus. She left this world on June 5, 2021 at age 73 in the presence of family at her home in Chula Vista. Her indomitable spirit, infectious laughter, and beautiful smile endured through a protracted battle with cancer.

  She was born to Macario and Loreto Villaflor in 1948 on January 16 or 29 (depending on the story). After several years of teaching grade school, she left her neighborhood of Tandaay Nabua in Camarines Sur, Philippines, to immigrate to the United States in pursuit of the "American Dream”. When she met Crescente Ymas Delgado, it was love at first sight…at least that’s what he says. Together, they had four children: Christina, Cynthia, Crescente, Jr. and Clarissa.

  Cielo loved spending time with her family and friends all the while talking, laughing and singing. The overflow of her walk with the Lord made her a socialite, holding court wherever she went in pursuit of a genuine connection with every person she met. Her house was a revolving door of love always equipped with food and gifts to go!

She is survived by her husband, four children and seven grandchildren: Cielo (Jr.), Giovanni, Myla, Caitlyn, Nico, Lucas and Micah.

Now you have left the pain of cancer behind and filled heaven with your beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

Nice picture of Cielo here. It is the smile that I will always remember of Cielo. I always look forward to her story telling with all the right moves- completo recado- she is a real entertainer.
I thank the Lord for her- she has been a blessing to me. One of the strong women I know. I’m glad I was given the chance to know her. She is always on the beat- no matter what pain she is feeling. I’m in awe of how she has managed to be kingkay in spite of the pain. A natural born people person- she makes everyone feel comfortable on the first meeting. A beautiful person with a kind heart.
I’m sure the Lord will say- good job my good and faithful child- when they meet.

The Lord’s compassion is warmly felt in the memories of Mrs. Delgado that I will always hold in my heart. Although I haven’t attended the Villaflor-Delgado Christmas Eve party for many years, there is not a year goes by that I cannot smell, taste and feel the warmth of those celebrations of faith, family and friends. I will always be grateful to our Lord for surrounding me with the unparalleled friendships of your daughters Chrissy and Cyn.

Mrs. Delgado, you are a phenomenal mother (and I know you know that)! Your legacy of love and warmth and your independent spirit will live on for generations to come. Our family prays that you may rest in the peace of our Lord and Savior forever. May your spirit continue to bless the Villaflor-Delgado family.

From the first time I met you in July of 2004, you instantly went from being the mother of my daughter- in-law Christina, to being my dear sister and friend. You always had a smile and a desire to help and encourage. Because of you and Chris and your dedication to raising your children, we gained a lovely and beautiful daughter and three wonderful grandchildren. We also gained a huge and wonderful family of uncles, aunties, and cousins and the best food EVER. Your testimony of your faith in the saving grace of Jesus and His love spilled over onto all of us. What a wonderful testimony your life has been over this “vapor” of time we have on earth. We know that we will see you again soon in eternity in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You have been an integral part of our lives and brought us joy through knowing you.
