

In 1955, she was introduced to Pacencio Bautista Guinto and on November 10th, 1957 they married. While her husband boarded the USS Princeton, Clarita continued to reside in Masantol Pampanga. In 1961, their first daughter Grace Guinto was born in Cavite City, PH. A few months after, she departs for San Diego, CA to follow her husband’s deployment orders. In 1963, their second daughter Gina Guinto is born in San Diego. Her husband then boards the USS Frontier while it docks in Long Beach Naval Shipyard in 1965. While living in Long Beach in 1966, their third daughter, Gloria Guinto, was born. In 1968 the family moves to Hawaii and their youngest daughter, Gail Guinto, is born. In 1969 Clarita and her daughters then follow Pacencio to Atsugi, Japan where they live for two years. In 1971 the Guinto’s move back to San Diego in Navy housing in Paradise Hills before they eventually purchase their home on Iris Ave in 1973.
While raising her family in San Diego, Clarita Manansala Guinto worked as a tailor. Eventually her acquired experience and skill in this position took her onto the military base where she began serving both veteran and active-duty patrons for 24 years at the Navy Exchange as a seamstress. She received several honors from both the Navy and the Navy Exchange for her service and dedication to her practice.
Most importantly, Clarita Manansala Guinto was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and wife. A bountiful source of love and support, now lost to us. Clarita passed peacefully on July 12, 2025. She is survived by her husband, her four daughters, three granddaughters and two grandsons.
