

Clifford Eugene Reichenberg, age 91, passed away peacefully at his family home surrounded by his four children and family on May 13, 2025. Cliff, also known as Gene, was born on 11/11/1933 to Henry and Esther Reichenberg in Ogallala, NE. At age 20, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 20 years, which included serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars, with an additional 10 years in the Fleet Reserves. He retired from the Navy as Chief Petty Officer/Yeoman. His civilian career was spent at the U.S. District Federal Court, San Diego, for the remainder of his working life as a Deputy Clerk of the Court, serving with several Judges over the course of 20 additional years of federal service.
Gene married the love of his lifetime, Greta Marlene Siedow, in June 1959. They were able to enjoy a wonderful life together with their four children and grandchildren ~ many happy years of summer vacations, travel and special times with family all through their life and during retirement. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage this June 21, 2025.
Cliff is preceded in death by his wife Greta who passed away in September 2016, along with his four brothers - Lewis Reichenberg, Lowell Reichenberg, Robert (Bob) Reichenberg and Gordon Reichenberg.
Cliff is survived by his sister Sharleen Elliott, who will be celebrating her 100th birthday this June 2025, his four children: Tracie McClendon (Ken), Brenda James (Bryan), Duane “Skip” Reichenberg (Karine) and Doug Reichenberg (Stephanie), ten grandchildren: Ammie DeLorey (Josh), Kyle James, Christopher Holodnak (Cameron), Krystle O’Neill (Brian), Aubrie McClendon, Sean Reichenberg, Trevor Reichenberg, Sophia Reichenberg, Justin Reichenberg, Ryan Reichenberg, nine great grandchildren: Rorri, Baylee, Neveah,
Zoe, Henry, Rowen, Ciaran, Wrynn and Eleanor, one great-great grandchild: Gunner, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service and interment with full military honors will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Rd., Bonita, CA 91902 on Friday, June 20th at 10am.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 21 from 1-3pm at Eastlake Community Church, Upper Campus, 990 Lane Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91914, with light refreshments following.
