

Born on May 2, 1939, in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines, Conchita was the 2nd of 3 children of Jose Marinas and Rosario Agustin. At 3 years old, her father, Jose, became ill and passed away. Rosario would then marry Conchita's stepfather, Domingo Cubacha, Sr. and since then gained 7 more siblings.
Conchita graduated high school in 1956 from National University and enrolled in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Santo Tomas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1961.
She was in her 20s when she moved to the U.S., where she later met her husband, Albert Espinosa. She and Albert met when he was invited over to the house on Moultrie Street in San Francisco by Diomedes Santos, who, at the time, was courting her younger sister, Yolanda. Conchita and Albert married in December 1967. They were married for 42 years.
During their married life as a Navy family, they lived in many places, including Japan, San Francisco, where daughter Christine was born; Richmond, Virginia; and Pensacola, Florida. They finally settled in San Diego, where they welcomed their 2nd daughter, Cecilia.
In her later years, Conchita went on to have a fulfilling career as a
Configuration Specialist working as a civilian at North Island Naval Base. She was described as bringing immense joy, style, and vibrant energy to the workplace.
Personally, she had a passion for cooking, dancing, "pasyaling", and raising her six grandchildren. She enjoyed eating at buffets, especially those with unlimited shrimp and crab legs, and was known for her candle dances at weddings and
formal parties. Conchita was a devoted wife. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and Lola. She was known to be a loyal and supportive friend and co-worker.
She is survived by her daughters Christine and Cecilia, grandsons Robby,Frankie, Mickey, Andy, and Lucas, and granddaughter Analeia; siblings Violet, Eveline, Benjamin, Virginia, Elizabeth, Domingo Jr., and Merlyn. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert; her parents Jose, Rosario, and Domingo; and her sisters, Rosalia and Yolanda.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Church, 990 Saturn Blvd, San Diego, CA 92154 at 10:00 a.m. on July 15, 2026. Burial will immediately follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita, CA 91902.
