

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Consuelo Ramos Lanuzga was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Consuelo will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Consuelo’s life journey began on June 21, 1934. She first greeted the world in Bato, Camarines Sur, Philippines. Her parents' names were Mateo T. Ramos and Francisca O. Ramos. She was raised with four siblings, Leonore, Miguel, Jeanette and Luciano. Over the years, Consuelo and her family shared many special life experiences over the years creating many fond memories.
Consuelo graduated from La Consolacion High School in 1952 and later continued her education by attending Colegio de Santa Isabel Naga City. On March 23, 1957 she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
Consuelo met and fell in love with Juan B. Lanuzga and the sweethearts exchanged wedding vows on January 10, 1960. The wedding took place in the Parish of the Most Holy Trinity in Bato, Camarines Sur. With empathetic and loyal hearts, Consuelo and Juan shared many loving and devoted years of marriage.
Consuelo and Juan were blessed with joy of four children, Jonas, Jayne, Joan and John. Consuelo worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment.
Later in life, Consuelo was blessed with the gift of two granddaughters, Jadin and Alysha.
Fortunately, Consuelo enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, she worked diligently and did her best to succeed in each of her occupations. Consuelo worked at Bato Elementary School as a School Teacher from 1957-1967. She later changed her career path and became a Barnes Hind Contact Lens Lab Tech in 1979.
Religion was a vital aspect of Consuelo’s life. She was an active member of the Catholic Church. She loved attending mass and singing in the St. Charles Choir. She was also a member of The Legion of Mary.
Consuelo was also very proud of being a historian for the Batoeños of Southern California.
During times of leisure, Consuelo took part in a number of different activities. She loved spending time in the kitchen and was known by her family and friends as being an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed relaxing by knitting. She took joy in giving her scarves and other creations, as gifts to her loved ones. She was always happy to share her interests with others.
Consuelo Lanuzga left us on August 22, 2011. She passed away in San Diego, California due to a massive stroke. She is survived by her loving husband Juan Lanuzga; her children Jonas Lanuzga, Jayne Lanuzga and her spouse Conrad Keil, Joan Lanuzga-Borgonia and her spouse Edwin Borgonia, and John Lanuzga; as well as her two granddaughters Jadin Zoe-Evalani Keil and Alysha Kristine Borgonia. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A funeral mass was held at St. Charles Catholic Church in San Diego on August 30, 2011.
Simply stated, Consuelo was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Consuelo leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Consuelo R. Lanuzga touched will always remember her with a smile.
