Dear Letty and Family,

We’re sending you our sincere sympathies and condolences on the loss of your husband/father. 

We will miss Tino and our chance encounters at Plaza Bonita where we would exchange news about our home town, Santa Rita.  When he went on vacation there, he liked to watch people while on their way going to the public market that was near their house.  He would tell me his observations which were vivid and entertaining.

 Tino will be greatly missed by his relatives in Santa Rita.  He was kind, caring and generous to them.  We know how special he was to you and to them. May God ease the pain in your hearts. Rosy, Tel, Letty and kids, our prayers are with you. Take care of yourselves.

Before even my plan of getting married you already promised me to be my sponsor and when the day came you kept your word as always. Since my childhood up to now you have been my Uncle Tinong. I love you Uncle. 

How  can we forget the joy everytime you sent us our christmas gifts. Thank you Uncle. 

Since I can remember and now that I have my own family ikaw pa rin si Uncle Santa.

I always remember my childhood days spending time at my Lola’s house which is built next to the ancestral house of the David clan. Uncle Ti have always “pasalubong” even for myself just being a nearby neighbor.
During his vacation in the Phil., he would talk to passers by and asked them how are they. As they reply, his next question is, “From what clan you belong?” This means he tries to reach out even to those people he doesn’t know.
Uncle Ti will always be remembered as a generous giver, one with a good heart.
May his soul rest in peace.

Born in Pampanga, Philippines, Cristino was the youngest of 8 and he challenged authority at every opportunity.  He was bright and he knew it. He paid his own way at the University of Santo Tomas and completed a degree in Economics.  Upon graduation, the family home burned down and so he joined the U.S. Navy and served for 20 years.

Cristino was a loyal husband and dedicated father to his two daughters. His proudest moments include the time he finally became a grandfather and ultimately had four grandsons. 

A man of few words, he was selective in who he opened up to, but once he let you in, you were his friend for life.  His circle of friends knew him to sing or whistle happily and share funny stories. 

Please join us on Wednesday, September 7 for a celebration of his life. Refreshments from 5-7pm and memorial service from 7-8pm.  Committal Service will be held on Thursday, September 8 at Miramar National Cemetery from 11:15 to 11:45am. 


Hail to the Chief!

Uncle Ti, as we fondly call him, is the epitome of humility, selflessness and integrity. Despite his success, he remained  simple and humble. He is a principled and an incorruptible person, always on the side of righteousness. Selfless, in the sense that he  joined the US Navy not for his own personal ambitions but rather, to alleviate his family in the Philippines from poverty and that includes not only his parents but also us, his orphaned nieces and nephew. This space is not enough to honor him for his goodness and generosity. 

We will miss you Uncle Ti… I will always be grateful to you..  I love you and you will forever remain in my heart.. Rest in God’s loving embrace. 🙏🙏🙏
