

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. David was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, David will be remembered as an exceptional person.
David’s life journey began on December 29, 1939. He first greeted the world in Calexico, California. His parents' were David Dewey and Murl Hollis Jones. He was raised with a sister Marianne Sevier. David was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his family sharing many life experiences over the years.
David was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. David experienced that with Joanne Louise Weisser and the couple exchanged wedding vows on August 11, 1962. The wedding took place in the First Presbyterian Church of Chula Vista, California. Empathic and loyal, David was committed to making his new family happy.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. David was blessed with one child; Sheryl Ann Jones –Greenlee. David worked hard to be a good father to his daughter and he did his best to fulfill her needs, raising her in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, David was blessed with the gift two grandsons.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, David enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, David worked diligently and did his best to succeed in of his career. David was self employed as a General Contractor. David had other accomplishments such as building many restaurants, motels and homes.
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. David enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including camping, word search books, loved going to grandsons baseball, soccer games. And any sports they played. He also enjoyed belonging to the Elks in Temecula, California.
David Gerald Jones left us on May 31, 2013. He is survived by his list of wife, Joanne L. Jones and daughter Sheryl Ann Jones –Greenlee. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Memorial Service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. David was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
So this is David’s life, the sum of the man that he became. Simply stated, David was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. David leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life David G. Jones touched will always remember him with a smile.
