

DeAnna Mae Louis-Balintec, 49, of San Diego, California, passed away at home on November 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Louis, and is survived by her mother Rosalie Louis; husband Reginald Balintec; cousins: Rose Marie Mayer and Cassandra Mimi Carter; aunts and uncle: Mr. and Mrs. Dorothy and Walter Thomas, Mary L. Carter, and Ethel M. Carter.
She was born on August 23, 1964 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and moved with her family to San Diego in 1972.
DeAnna graduated from La Jolla High School and went on to receive an Associate of Science in Business Management from the San Diego Community College District, a Bachelor of Vocational Education from San Diego State University, and a Master of Science in Educational Technology from National University.
In 1996, she met her first love, Reginald Balintec. They were married in 2000.
DeAnna devoted 27 years to the educational community, taking pride in her achievements, and working with and encouraging students in their endeavors.
Traveling, sampling new and different cuisines, going to the movies, and curling up on rainy days were among DeAnna’s favorite pastimes.
