When I look back over my teaching career, I appreciatively recall my seven years at CVJH. Your dad was welcoming and friendly from day one. He was very supportive of my home economics program and was encouraging with his complements on teaching techniques. There are so many individual stories to relate, but one only needed to spend a small about of time with him to see how much he cared for lost kids and finding solutions to getting them facing in the right direction. He was a just administrator and so knowledgeable about education. I feel fortunate to have been on his faculty. I am glad for you that he had a long life.

Lauren : We just found out about your father's passing. He and your mom were two of our first friends at New Hope Community Church and we cherished them dearly. He was a wonderful man, a great Christian brother and a wonderful example of God;'s love. Barbara and Raleigh Sanders

Del and Juanita were longtime friends with my parents since college days. Del and Juanita were my Godparents. I always felt special and loved by them through the years. When I was a kid, Del used to joke about me coming to live with his family if I wasn't treated right in my own. There was a time or two when I was a young girl and felt misunderstood for some reason or another in my own family that I considered taking him up on his offer. What would he have said if I showed up on his doorstep with suitcase in hand?! I had lunch with Del and my mother last year when I was visiting San Diego. When saying goodbye, Del took me aside and told me how proud of me he was. I felt special and loved, and I will treasure his last words to me. Heartfelt condolences to Greg, Julie and Laurie, whom I have known since childhood; and, the rest of the extended family. He will be fondly remembered for all of my days. I'm truly a better person because Del was in my world.

LAuren and family, my heart goes out to you at this time, your Dad will be missed but he is in such a wonderful place with those who went before and with the Savior he loved. What a wonderful legacy he leaves with all the years of being involved with the schools in Chula Vista, he enjoyed a busy but profitable life. I am sad that I cannot be with you at the services but I am recovering from hip surgery and now have to wear a leg brace, so getting out is impossible right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you each day, especially this weekend as you celebrate his home going. Rest in the arms of our sweet Jesus and feel His peace, strength and comfort flow to you...only Jesus!!!!

It is with great sadness that I learned of Mr. Walden's passing! He was our principal at Chula Vista Junior High School in the early 80's the entire time I was there. Mr. Walden was a true leader and set a wonderful example for us all to follow. My deepest condolences to his family- may he rest in peace.

Mr. Walden was the Boy's VP at Castle Park Jr. High when I was there in the mid-'60s. So sad to hear of his passing and so grateful to be able to enjoy the beautiful video/photo tribute and see what a wonderful husband/father/man he was. Sending prayers of comfort to his family and friends.

Mr. Walden was the boys VP at Castle Park High School when I was there - oh so long ago. I know he must have had the patience of a saint to work with us. May he rest in peace, and the family find comfort in all the contributions he made along his path.
