Deo Vergara Santos

Deo was born in 1937 to Maria Paz Vergara and Manuel Cruz Santos in Hermosa, Bataan Philippines.

He graduated from Hermosa Elementary School, Jose Rizal Institute, and Bataan National School of Arts and Trades.

Deo retired as a welder foreman from the United States Naval Ship Repair Facility (SRF), Subic Bay, Philippines in 1987. In the same year he moved to San Diego, California with his wife and their three children.

Deo loved taking care of his grandchildren, gardening, and traveling the world with his family.

He will always be remembered for being kind, generous, diligent, industrious, and devoted to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Deo is survived by his wife of 55 years Iluminada, and their children Agatha S. Valera (Aristeo), Anna Patricia S. Isidoro (Juancho, Jr.), and Arnold L. Santos (Rosalind), grandchildren Arabella S. Valera, Arielle S. Valera, and Juancho S. Isidoro III, and his sister Remedios Pagtalunan (Honesto). Deo is preceded in death by his grandsons Jayden Sam Valera and Juan Antonio S. Isidoro, siblings Marta S. Cruz, Josefa V. Santos, Sabina S. Lim, Anicia S. Quiambao, and Isaias V. Santos.

A funeral mass for Deo will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, 450 Corral Rd, Bonita, CA 91902.

A visitation will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.

A final viewing will occur Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

A committal service will occur Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
