She leaves behind 3 children Melissa, Carol and Eric; 4 grandchildren Ryan and his fiancé Brianna, Grace, Alexa, and Sabrina; 2 great-grandchildren Kaleb and Kaden; 2 sons in law Joe and Ramil.
Dionie was born on February 8, 1940 in La Loma, Quezon City, Philippines. She was 1 of 9 children, 6 girls, 3 boys and second to the eldest.
Dionie attended Philippine College of Commerce and graduated with an Associates Degree in Commerce.
In 1965, she married Alfredo Silvestre Guerrero.
In 1968, Alfredo brought Dionie and their 2 girls to Long Beach California where he was stationed in the United States Navy.
In 1970, the family moved to Norfolk Virginia, Alfredo’s second duty station.
In 1981, Alfredo chose San Diego California as his final duty station. The family moved there and made their home in Spring Valley California for the next 45 years.
In 1986, Dionie joined the United States Postal Service as a clerk. She dedicated 20 years of service before retiring in 2006.
Dionie loved gardening which was evident by the many trees and plants she grew. She had many orchid plants, roses and fruit trees like pomelo, guava, grapes, apples, kalamamsi, jujubi, persimmons and her famous orange tree in the front yard. She was very giving and shared a lot of the fruits with family, friends and neighbors.
Dionie also loved to cook. She was a great cook. Some of the dishes were pancit, apritada, macaroni salad (Filipino style with raisins), leche flan, ginataan, chicken and shrimp fettuccine.
Dionie was a loving, giving and generous person. It was evident by the way she took care of her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart.
