

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Divina was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Divina will be remembered as an exceptional person.
Divina’s life journey began on May 7, 1937. She first greeted the world in General Trias, Cavite, Phiippines. Her parents' were Ireneo Jimenez and Crisanta Loyola. She was raised with two sisters Isidora Gimenez, Maximina Gimenez Dragon and three brothers, Manuel, Roberto and Reynaldo Gimenez. Divina was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her family sharing many life experiences over the years.
Divina was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Tanza High School in 1954. Divina attended Philippine Normal College in 1956. Then Divina earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1959.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Divina experienced that with Ruben Calinisan Saria and the couple exchanged wedding vows on May 13, 1974. The wedding took place in Bacoor Cavite, Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Divina was committed to making her new family happy.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Divina was blessed with four children, Angelito Clamor, Annie Saria Villacorte, Ruben Tomas Gimenez Saria and Ruby Saria Manaligod. Divina worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, Divina was blessed with the gift of four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Divina enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Divina worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career as a Teacher. Divina taught at Bacao, Tapia and General Trias Cavite Elementary for a combination of 19 years. She was employed at Waimano Training School and Hospital for 5 years and also was employed at McGraw Hill Publishing Company for 4 years. Divina worked at Karlsruhe Library for 3 years as a Librarian.
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Divina enjoyed her leisure time by spending it with her family and friends by taking part in a number of different activities, including praying and helping those in need.
Divina Gimenez Saria left us on May 25, 2013. She passed away in the Philippines. The cause of death was due to Acute Renal Failure. She is survived by husband Ruben Calinisan Saria, son Angelito Clamor and his daughter Michelle Celine and son Ericze, daughter Annie Gimenez Saria with her husband Alberto Villacorte and their son Vincent, son Ruben Tomas Gimenez Saria with wife Rose Gee, daughter Ruby Saria Manaligod with husband Samuel Manaligod and their sons Trevor Samuel, Troy Ruben and Joshua Wolverine.
Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Funeral Mass was held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 450 Corral Canyon Rd., Bonita, California on June 8, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. Divina was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
So this is Divina’s life, the sum of the woman that she became. Simply stated, Divina was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Divina leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Divina Gimenez Saria touched will always remember her with a smile.
