On August 5, 2020, Dolores Canda Jazmin, aka Mama Lita, age 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in the Philippines on September 28, 1931. On January 1, 1952, Dolores married Floro Alayza Jazmin and later moved to the United States in 1964. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Floro, daughter Flora and son, Armando, and her brother, Angel. She is survived by her 3 children, Andy Jazmin (married to Grayce), Jerry Jazmin (married to Leona) and Mary Liza (Jazmin) Prado (married to Fred Prado, Jr.). She was a proud grandmother of 9 granddaughters, LeeAnn and Janene (daughters of Flora and John), Jaque, Tori and Kathryne (daughters of Andy and Grayce), AmandaLee (daughter of Jerry and Leona), and Corrinne, Alex and Malia (daughters of Liza and Fred). Her 6 beautiful great grandchildren are Andrew, J.J., Matthew, JonJon, Sara, and Maya.
Her interests included family gatherings, pruning her rose garden, sewing, cooking, doing Tae Bo to Billy Blanks and she loved to singing to Doris Day, Pilita Corales and Nora Aunor. Employed at Ratner’s Corporation in the 70’s, Dolores became self-employed and was a very successful business woman for Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc., for 27 years. She frequently was the top sales representative in San Diego County and even one-time top sales representative in the United States. Dolores was a woman of faith and devout Catholic, attending St. Charles Catholic Church and was a member of their Cursilio.
Visitation for Mama Lita will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Glen Abbey's "Little Chapel of the Roses", 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902. A second visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Vigil mass starting at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 21, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church, 990 Saturn Blvd, San Diego, California 92154. Graveside burial and interment at Glen Abbey to follow Funeral Mass.
