OBITUARY
Dolores R. Robledo
April 11, 1930 – July 14, 2020
Doña Lola immigrated from Monterrey NL, Mexico, to America on February 25, 1957, together with her husband and seven kids with a dream. She began working seasonally in the fields of Santa Rosa and canneries of San Diego. As her family grew, she quickly settled in San Ysidro, and by then, there were 13 kids. As the need kept increasing, her husband thought they should start a business, and officially launched the Tortilleria San Ysidro. Doña Lola loved to cook, especially for her kids, and this operations quickly transformed into a quick-serve Mexican Food restaurant. Within a few short years, Roberto's Taco Shop was born, and then rest is history. Doña Lola moved to Encinitas, where she enjoyed more than 30 years with her children and many grandkids. An avid baseball fan, you could catch Doña Lola enjoying visits to Petco Park to watch her team, the San Diego Padres. She also enjoyed and devoted much time to her blooming, lush garden. Eventually, she made her way to Escondido's southern area, where she enjoyed her golden years with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She is survived by ten sons and daughters, thirty-nine grandkids, fifty great-grandkids and five great-great grandkids. "We will always carry your memory in our hearts."

While I never met Mrs. Robledo I once worked with her daughter Reyna. Through her I learned of Mrs. Robledo’s generosity and dedication to her children. May she Rest In Peace and prayers for the family including my beautiful friend Reyna-that this profound loss be soothed by God’s love and grace.

To the beautiful Robledo family. We are so sorry to hear of about your mother’s passing. We first met Dolores at Jessica Robledo De La Rosa (Dolores granddaughters) wedding to my brother Michael A. De La Rosa, in Maui, Hawaii and again at her great grandson Michael A. De La Rosa II, first birthday party at his grandparent’s house. The Robledo family has always been so welcoming and kind.
Dolores was such a lovely lady.
Our prayers go out to the whole Robledo family during this time of loss.
Love,
Jessica De La Rosa Goeldner and Gary Holley

Greetings, I am writing to offer my condolences over the loss of your beloved Matriarch, Delores. I have remained an appreciative customer of Roberto's for many years because I had the blessing of knowing Cecilia and her lovely, special children at the Rhoades School in Encinitas. Cecilia generously supported the parents' efforts at supporting the school fund-raising for scholarships for children by catering Roberto's delicious delights for many parent events. It was her honor of the family business and her parents-in-law's undertaking to start this business that I will always remember. I loved every minute I got to spend with her and could feel her respect and love for her family, which I have never forgotten. I take every visitor we ever have to San Diego for at least one Roberto's meal. What a lovely family Delores and Roberto have raised. It is heartening to read of the respect, love and appreciation for this family. Nancy Lyon

I am thankful for having known Doña Lola since my birth through my sister’s marriage. She was always such a kind woman. I always loved the soothing sound of her voice and laugh when one of her children or grandchildren would make her giggle. That will be what I most remember about her besides always putting her family first. I don’t ever remember being in her presence when she wasn’t pleasant. We are so sorry for the loss of this very special woman, mother, mother in law, and grandmother. Lots of love to all of you from the Regis-Corona Family

I never met Dolores Robledo or her family, but I've benefited greatly from her wonderful work! I moved to Oceanside in 1984 and worked off of Miramar Rd on the graveyard shift. I ate carne asada tacos every night for the first year! I thought then, and think now, that Roberto's was the best thing in San Diego after the weather. I'm sure there are other wonderful businesses that started here, wonderful Qualcomm for one, but my favorite is still Roberto's!
Thank you so much, Dolores and Roberto! Where else could I have eaten so well at 3am in the morning, night after night after night??

Thank you, Mrs. Robledo, and your entire family for pouring yourselves into the community through your food and passionate heart. I live in Texas along with many others who relocated from San Diego, and ask any of us what they miss and they will instantly say "Roberto's carne asada burritos...and nothing else." To some, Roberto's may have been quick food, but to us it was "home" and "happiness." What a legacy you built, and what an incredible family you have left. Rest in peace.

I am very sorry for your loss. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and have many great memories with family and friends that include Roberto’s Taco shops and the wonderful food. My first experience was in San Diego at the Mission Beach location. I still remember how happy I and many of my friends were when the taco shops arrived in Las Vegas. Eventually one opened less than a mile from my house and I ate there every day for 30 days straight. I haven’t lived in Las Vegas for a little over 20 years now but each time I return to visit family/friends we always stop at Roberto’s.
Again, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Please know she brought much happiness to so many of us through the shops.

I will forever miss my grandma. I, along with my siblings, mom & family have so many great memories with my grandma. She has always been there for me and everyone else. I love my grandma and have faith that one day I will see her again in glory with the Lord Jesus in heaven. I loved going to visit her and watching the Padres and baseball, both at Petco and I specially on TV at her house. I love you grandma. God bless you so so much!

Famille Robledo,

I may have not gotten the chance to meet Mrs. Robledo, I would like to first say my condolences to the Robledo Family. I have been eating at Robertos Taco Shop in Las Vegas for the past 15+ yrs every time we are in town 5 times out of the year and it has come down to a tradition for our family that we eat there on our first day and also every Wednesday for their famous chicken tacos! We will continue on doing this tradition in your memory. God Bless Robledo Family 🙏

Our dearest condolences to your family at this truly difficult time. Our heart is saddened for you all. I was born and raised in San Diego and moved to Henderson, NV 13 years ago. You don’t know how thrilled I was when I saw my first Roberto’s out here! My family has to eat there at least once a week. My parents and grandparents are all buried at Glen Abbey as well. We will remember you Sra. Robledo every time we eat at any of your restaurants. 💜

AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, caring, loveable, hard worker, intelligent, gorgeous, kind hearted, strong, faithful woman of God who I loved so dealry. Her peaceful smile and soft hug would tell me how much she cared for me. I am selfishly sad but rejoicing at the same time knowing Mrs. Robledo has started her everlasting life standing with our MIGHTY HEAVENLY FATHER. May her memory stay strong in our hearts. 💖 love you all and may God bring tranquillity into our faithful hearts. 💖 Monica Medina
