Born on a farm to Louis and Rose Kracht; Dorothy was raised in Westside Iowa alongside her five older siblings: Victor, Earling, Amos, Lyle, and Lois. She tragically lost her parents in a car accident when she was 15. Dorothy gained strength and independence at a young age. She met and married Carl Parsons at age 20. The Navy and WWII brought them to San Diego, where they both spent the rest of their days. Carl died in 1999 after 57 years of marriage.
Dorothy was loving and kind to all, especially her family. She cherished her family and faith. A true matriarch, she was adored by all, with her strength, thoughtfulness, smile and love shining through.
She is survived by sons Robert and John, daughter Janet Hays, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
