

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellis (Papa) Timba, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on December 1st, 1936 in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, he lived a life filled with love, and unwavering dedication to his family, until his passing in San Diego, California, on October 9th, 2024.
A proud Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, Papa served for over 20 years, embodying the values of honor, loyalty, and commitment. His military career was a testament to his strong character and work ethic, qualities that he carried into every aspect of his life. After his service, he continued to work relentlessly to provide for his family, ensuring that they were always cared for and supported.
Papa was known for his charming personality, sense of humor, and the fedora that he stylishly wore. His love for his family was evident in everything he did; he dedicated himself to building a warm and nurturing home filled with joy and love.
As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Papa cherished each moment spent with his loved ones. He found joy in sharing stories, playful teasing, and building or fixing things with his own hands. His legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Papa is survived by his loving wife, Rosario, his sisters, Nitz Camarce and Vicky Cosio, and his children, Sally Deguzman (Kiko), Layne Timba (Jayne), and Eric Timba (Diane), his grandchildren, Sheena (Mitchell), Shaun, Allysa, Madeline, Sophia, Charlotte, and Julian, and his great-grandchildren, Max and Sam. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isabelo and Bonifacia Timba, and his sister Juliana Cajudo.
The community will have an opportunity to pay their respects at the viewing scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th at 5 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary. The funeral will commence the following morning, October 31st, at 9 AM at the same location. Ellis will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, with a reception to follow back at Glen Abbey where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and share their cherished memories.
