Emil Fuerte Felarca passed away at age 88 on April 23, 2019 at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in San Diego, California. He was born in the Philippines on March 7, 1931 to Emilio Asuncion Felarca and Apolonia Fuerte Felarca.
He married Corazon Ramos Galace on August 21, 1955 and brought his family to San Diego, California in 1970. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years, then worked for the United States Postal Service until 2001.
Emil loved to sing, dance, and serenade his wife. His hobbies included raising chickens for cockfighting, and growing fruits and vegetables. He was known for sharing his bounty with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers: Arturo Felarca, and Jesse Felarca; and one sister: Jesusa Fernandez.
He is survived by his wife, Corazon Felarca; his sons: Sonny, Noel, and Nestor; his daughters: Gladys, Chelo, and Cynthia; his 17 grandchildren; his two brothers: Lucio Felarca, and Dimas Felarca; and three sisters: Rebecca Amor, Alicia Felarca, and Nora Aguilo.
