

Encarnacion “Hedy” Lopez, 89, of Chula Vista, California, passed away on September 1, 2015. Funeral service will be held at The Little Chapel of Roses at Glen Abbey located at 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita CA 91902, on September 12, 2015 at 11:00am with Father Dermot Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
Two days of visitation will be held at Glen Abbey follows: on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Little Lodge and on Friday, September 11 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Little Chapel of Roses.
Hedy was born in Lubao Pampanga, Philippines, to Pablo and Luisa Vitug on October 15, 1925. She had four siblings, namely, Querubin, Consolacion, Bienesto and Luisita. In 1945, she graduated from Pampanga High School and went on to earn degrees in Pharmacology from the Centro Escolar University, Manila, Philippines and Education from Guagua National College. In the early sixties, she opened a pharmacy in her hometown Lubao and later taught science high school in Remedios and elementary in Concecion towns, both in Lubao, Philippines. She devoted most of her life caring for her children and grandchildren. She was well-loved by friends and relatives and a true homebody who loved to read, crochet and cook. Hedy was married for 61 years to Federico K. Lopez who passed away in 2011.
Hedy is survived by her sons Cesar and James, her daughter-in-law Amor and grandchildren Louise and husband Darrell, Charmaine and Jeric.
Hedy will always be remembered as a simple, kind, loving and caring mother whose priority was her family. She will remain in our hearts forever.
