Ernie was born on October 13, 1924 in Castillejos, Zambales, Philippines. He is the son of the late Eduardo Manglicmot and the late Bonifacia de Guzman Manglicmot. He was married to Teresita Buencamino Manglicmot for 38 years until his passing.
He went to high school in the Philippines and joined the U.S. Navy in Subic Bay, Philippines in 1945. He retired from active duty in 1964 where upon he joined the fleet reserve and worked in the Commissary Store at North Island, San Diego, CA. He also worked for the Bahia Hotel where he was the hospitality supervisor over 25 employees. During that time Ernie also raised his four children in Chula Vista, CA. After his children were grown, he continued to work full-time at the Commissary Store until his retirement in 1975.
Retirement provided opportunities to enjoy traveling the world with his beautiful wife Tess, gardening, and being a loyal fan of Padres baseball. His greatest joy was being with his family. He loved being surrounded by and having fun with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Teresita Manglicmot of Bonita, CA, his children: Barbara Schneekluth and husband Mark Schneekluth of Vista, CA, son, Phillip Manglicmot and wife, Julie Manglicmot of San Diego, CA and daughter-in-law, Diane Manglicmot of Plano, TX.
Also surviving are his seven cherished grandchildren: Mark Manglicmot, Kara Torres, Geoffrey Schneekluth, Morgan Pohl, Ryan Manglicmot, Tori LaBahn, and Malia Manglicmot and four great grandchildren: Madeline Torres, Kyle Manglicmot, Bryan Manglicmot and Graham Pohl.
Ernie is predeceased by his daughter Patricia Chambers, and son, Ernest Gregory Manglicmot.
