Esperanza A. Juan was born on September 24, 1937 and was called HOME by our Lord and Savior on August 16, 2019. She was born to her loving parents Brigido “Edong” Almodovar and Petra “Charing” Carlos in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. She was the fourth of seven children and is survived by her sister, Josefina, and two brothers, Salvador and Diosdado; and was preceded by her sister, Fe, and two brothers, Juanito and Virgilio. She is survived by her husband Dominador; daughters Rosanna, Carmella, Melinda; son-in-law’s Jose, David, Lester; grandchildren, Hope, Cara, Eric and Katelin; and step-grandchildren, Jon and Matt.
Esperanza A. Juan, also affectionately known as “Espie,” attended Far Eastern University, in Manila, and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Before marriage, she worked for Cruz Transportation Company. She then moved to the United States with her Navy husband of 56 years, initially living in San Diego and later settling in Chula Vista.
Espie was a kind and gentle soul. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was centered around her family and the loving ways she provided for them. She loved God, being a caring mother, cooking for her family, and watching the Food Network Channel. She also loved nature and animals, especially Monarch butterflies.
Our family will always be grateful to her for instilling in us a love for God, family, and friends. She radiated kindness, generosity, compassion and most of all LOVE. We were blessed to have a beautiful mother, both inside and out. She will forever be missed by her family, relatives, friends, and ALL who called her MOM. This is not the end, for we know in Jesus’ promise we will see each other again in our true HOME.
