Evelyn L. Williams

Evelyn was born January 16, 1924 in Livingston, TX to parents Ephfram and Myrtle Walding. She was raised in Aransas Pass, TX. and at the age of six her mother passed away. Her father later remarried Ella Gift and together they raised Evelyn and her siblings; Jackie Walding, Curtis Walding and Ruth Walding, Elmer Frank Powell (Buddy), Billy Powell, Dorothy

Powell, Helen Powell and adopted sisters Linda and Susan.

In 1944 she moved to Long Beach, California with her aunt Hattie Williamson.

Years later she moved to San Diego, California where she met and married Robert Warren Williams - May 10, 1978. She worked for General Dynamics-Convair division as a Shop Order Clerk. Eventually the division was purchased by Lockheed-Martin and then by United Launch Alliance in which she held the position as Administrative Analyst. On her 50th year of service she was invited to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida to view the launching of the Atlas V (Vehicle). She retired after 60 years of loyal service.

Evelyn will be especially remembered for her devotion to those she loved. She was a role model and an inspiration who lived her life as God led her to do. We will miss her, but we rejoice that she is now with the Lord.

Survivors include step-son Rodney D. Williams, wife Debby and their two children Becky and Derek, nephew's James Bryan ("Jim Bo") Powell, Elmer Frank (Buddy Jr.) Powell and nieces, Jo Ann Powell, Debra Powell and Linda Byrum.

Close Friends that she considered as her second family; Elizabeth R. Baladez (Daughter), Juan Baladez, Lizi Sandoval, Mandi Baladez, Rosie Castaneda and Lorena Lara.

Viewing will be held at 5:00pm, April 20, 2012 at the Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel (Main Chapel), 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. Burial service will be held at 11:00am on April 21, 2012 at Glen Abbey.
