

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Fay Lene Vaughn was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Fay will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Fay’s life journey began on June 12, 1937. She first greeted the world in her home state of Texas. Her parents' names were Judge and Libby Davis. She was raised in Gilmore, Texas with nine siblings, Donnie Harris, Junior Davis, Cleo Davis, Mandy Lewis, Alfonso Davis, Aurthor Lee Davis, Katherine Redd and Mac Aurthor Davis. She attended and graduated from Mary Bethune High School.
Fay met and fell in love with her sweetheart, Marvin H. Vaughn and the couple exchanged wedding vows on June 21, 1957 in Crane, Texas. With empathic and loyal hearts, Fay and Marvin shared many loving years of marriage.
Fay was blessed with five children, Marietha, Regina, Kimberly, Mark and Tracey. Fay worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later in life, Fay was blessed with the joy of twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Fortunately, Fay enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, she worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Fay was employed by the Department of the Navy for over twenty years.
Fay enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including cooking, playing Bingo and watching her favorite programs on the television. She was always happy to share her interests with others.
Fay Vaughn left us on September 9, 2011 in San Diego, California. She is survived by her loving children Marietha Dorsey, Regina Vaughn, Kimberly Vaughn-Love, Mark Vaughn and Tracey Vaughn; her siblings Donnie Harris, Junior Lee Davis, Mandy Lewis, Alfonso Davis and Katherine Redd; her grandchildren William Davis, Ronald Watson, Steven Simpson, Patrise Johnston, Pinktress Dorsey, Vickie Love, Brittanee Modisette, James Robinson, Marcus Vaughn, Anton Vaughn, Mark Vaughn Jr. and Micah Vaughn; as well as many other relatives and friends. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A funeral service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita on September 15, 2011. Fay was laid to rest at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
Simply stated, Fay was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Fay leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Fay Lene Vaughn touched will always remember her with a smile.
