Faye was a loving wife of 68 years, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Faye is survived by her son, Terry and his wife Polly, daughter Pam and her husband Russ, and son Jon and his wife Patty. She had seven grandchildren: Dani and her husband Kevin, Hallee, Amanda, Paul, Melissa, Callie, and Jesse and one great-granddaughter, Nora.
Faye was born in Olustee, Oklahoma in 1929. Standing tall at 5’1”, she was the star center forward for the state champion Altus Bulldogs ladies basketball team. After marrying Harold in 1950, Faye became a supportive Marine Corps wife while also working as a bank teller until the birth of her second child. She raised her three children, ran her household and never failed to dote on everyone around her. After retirement, Faye and Harold enjoyed yearly summer trips to Canada to fish and visit friends.
Faye was known to her grandchildren and friends as the Sass Queen. She was the best person to sit next to at family gatherings; she never failed to entertain with her one-liners and cheeky comments. And when it was time for dessert, she always indulged - and shared. Faye was often found in her craft room sewing and crocheting. She made blankets, coasters, towels, and wonderful surprises for family and friends. Faye insisted she wasn’t a day over 29, and with her wit and attitude, no one could disagree. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her, and is now resting peacefully with Harold.
