

Feliciano "Chano" Reyes Santos passed away in San Diego, CA on Friday, November 14, 2014. He was 84. Chano was born July 19, 1930, in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines to Silvino Santos and Margarita Reyes. He was the youngest of three children.
Chano joined the United States Navy until retiring in 1974. For his second career Chano became a self-employed automobile mechanic and named his business Pilipino Mobile Auto Repair, with the slogan "No time to bring your car to the shop? I'll bring my shop to your garage." Chano and his mobile auto repair shop fixed cars in the cities of San Diego, Chula Vista, National City, La Mesa, and Imperial Beach.
After closing his auto repair business in 1997 to retirement, Chano devoted his time to building a backyard orchids nursery. His orchids won high honors in several orchid shows held separately by the San Diego Orchid Society and the Palomar Orchid Society. Chano enjoyed the sport of skeet shooting throughout his lifetime and he enjoyed doing the activity with his children and grandchildren. Chano also enjoyed recreational and competitive bowling.
Chano is survived by his wife Aguida, sons Ray and Fel, daughter Lyn, his grandchildren Jordan, Joel, Alyza, Jasmine, Keenan, Claire, and EJ, his great-granddaughter Kuuanelalani, and his eldest sister Teresa Bautista of the Philippines. Chano was preceded in death by older sister Miguela Diaz of the Philippines.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 25, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel, Bonita. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 26, at 10 a.m. at The Little Chapel of Roses located inside Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Burial service with Military Honors immediately follows at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
