Ferdinand Geniza, 61, of San Diego, CA, passed away on July 12, 2025. He was born on June 20, though legally recorded on his birth certificate as June 19, 1964, in Quezon City, Philippines as the youngest of eight siblings. He immigrated to the United States at 8 years old and grew up in San Diego. He was a devoted husband to Nanette and a loving father to Belanna and Jordan.
He was hard-working and dedicated. He spent over 30 years working as a Software Engineer, many of which at Jack in the Box, Inc. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.
He is a music lover and a performer at his core - he could always be found on the dance floor, on stage with a microphone, or singing the Lord’s praises in church. He was always modest about his talent, even as he received compliments from peers and audience members. In this way, he left a lasting impact to everyone who knew him, and even strangers who bore witness to him.
His hobbies and interests helped define who he was. In addition to his love of music, he enjoyed various sports and watching movies and TV, often spending his free days playing golf with his friends or spending time with family. His love for movies, especially the Star Wars franchise, was something he shared with everyone he cared about, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.
He is survived by his wife Nanette, children Belanna and Jordan, his seven siblings, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
