Fidelina Membreño Hasbún Madera died peacefully in her home on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in the arms of her loving daughter Gloria. Fidelina was born in Cojutepeque, El Salvador on September 13, unconfirmed year. She was the youngest child of Carmen Hasbún de Membreño and Benjamin Membreño Rodriguez. By the age of twelve, Fidelina had lost both her parents. Her beloved sister Victoria took custody until she married.
In 1944, she married Ramón Herberto Guerra Hinds and had two beautiful daughters Ena Mabel and Vilma Antonieta Guerra Membreño. In 1958, Fidelina and her two daughters emigrated to the United States. She met Santiago Madera Jr Ortiz at Plaza Olvera in Los Angeles and married in 1959. They welcomed her youngest daughter Gloria del Carmen Madera Membreño.
Fidelina was a homemaker that took pride in making her house a home. Fidelina was a true fashionista. She had many hobbies and enjoyed being active . She took delight in tending her rose garden, collecting Lladro, participating in the Pan American Club, traveling, dancing , music, telenovelas, movies, yoga and playing with her pets. Fidelina was a loving nana taking care of her two youngest grandsons Patricio and Benjamin every afternoon throughout their school days.
Fidelina loved her family and friends. She held on to her Catholic traditions and inculcated faith in God to her family. The matriarch of the family. Fidelina was a true example of resilience, stamina , straightforwardness , feistiness, charisma and our biggest cheerleader. She always believed that with great effort and God’s grace anything is possible.
Preceded in death by her husband Santiago Madera Jr. , sons in law Gaylord and David, grandchildren Gaylord Jr and Sabrina White. Fidelina was the last surviving member of Membreño Hasbún family branch; preceded in death were her parents Carmen & Benjamin, brothers Benjamin & Rafael, sisters Victoria, Carmen, Rosalinda, and María.
Fidelina is survived by her daughters Ena M. White, Vilma A. Vejar and Gloria Madera-Walsh (Daniel), grandchildren: Gina, George, Pat, Fidelina, Mima, Trisha, Patrick, Patricio, and Benjamin. Fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on December 18th at Glen Abbey Chapel of the Roses 3838 Bonita Road , Bonita, CA from 5-9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at St. Rose of Lima 293 H Street, Chula Vista, CA at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Glen Abbey Memorial Park 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA.
