

Filma was raised with six siblings. She had one sister, Bella and five brothers, Artemio, Jaime, Sancho, Dante and Raul. Filma was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Filma had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Quirino High School in 1965. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Filma enjoyed her college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Filma was able to manage the balancing act. She earned her degree from University of the East in 1965.
On September 20, 1970 Filma exchanged wedding vows with Nestorio A. Init in Cavite, Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Filma was committed to making her new family happy.
Filma worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Filma was blessed with two children, daughters, Ellyson and Natasha. Another blessing for Filma was the gift of four grandchildren, Marcus, Chandler, Jayna, and Riley.
Fortunately, Filma enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Filma worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was as a financial technician. She was employed for over 20 years. Filma always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Filma passed away on August 25, 2010 at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. Filma fought a brave battle against AML. She is survived by her husband, Nestorio; daughters, Ellyson Init- Richard and Natasha Init- Echada; as well as her grandchildren, Marcus, Chandler, Jayna and Riley. Services were held at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel on September 12, 2010. Filma was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Filma was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered as being a devoted, loving and generous wife; mother; grandmother; and friend to all. She was a vital part of everyones lives. Filma leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Filma C. Init.
