Florencia V. Santos

Florencia Villegas Santos was born in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines on October 27, 1948, to Vivencio Villegas and Rosa Samaniego and was the youngest of eight children. She attended E. T. Tirona Memorial High School and graduated in 1965. She then continued her education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of the East in Manila. After graduating, she opened her own business in the Noveleta Cavite market selling clothing and beauty products.

In 1974, she married Margarito Santos and then moved to California. God blessed their union with two beautiful children, Sherryl and Neil John.

In the early 80s, she worked with the City of San Diego providing administrative assistance for several years. In 1986, she decided to start her own business, called Flora’s Oriental Store, selling asian food products, renting out Filipino movies, working as a travel agent, and providing Filipino food-to-go. She had a great work ethic and would always come up with new ideas for the business. After 20 years of hard work and owning and managing the store, she decided to finally retire and sell the business.

After retirement, she spent time working on her garden, cooking, decorating, playing bingo, playing with her dogs and camping. At times, you would have found her playing cards with her card-playing club, called SYNC, or planning parties and social gatherings with the Kawitenos Association of Southern California. She also enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with family, friends, and loved ones. She was a very kind and caring individual and took pride in helping others.

She departed this life on Monday, November 1, 2010. Her loving memory is cherished by her husband, Margarito; two children, Sherryl and Neil; siblings, Zeny, Oscar, Resty, Romy, Nestor, Leony, and Eniong; and many other relatives.

Florencia has touched many lives and was loved by many. We love you and we will greatly miss you!!!
