Framee was born on June 19, 1976, in Dumangas, Iloilo, Philippines, to Francisco Acovera and Mimi Decolongon. As a baby, she was lovingly nicknamed "Apple"—as in "the apple of my eye." She was the second of four siblings, preceded by her younger brother David, who passed away on May 20, 2000, and with whom she shared a close bond. She is survived by her devoted mother Mimi, older sister Trimee, brother-in-law Ric, younger brother Moses, sister-in-law Sheryl, and father Zac. Even from a young age, Framee was a calming and nurturing presence—observant, kind, and deeply loyal.
Framee graduated from Mount Miguel High School in 1994, where she played tennis and was a member of the French Club. Independent and determined, she worked two, sometimes three jobs to put herself through college. She began her studies at La Sierra University and later transferred to Loma Linda University, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Occupational Therapy. After passing her board exams, she became a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant—a role that perfectly aligned with her compassionate nature and adventurous spirit.
Her career gave her the opportunity to live in places she loved: Seattle, Washington; Hilo, Hawaii; Scottsdale, Arizona; Laguna Niguel, California; and ultimately back home to San Diego.
Framee was a second mother to her niece Harmony and nephews Andrew, Isaac, Ricky, Eli, and Israel along with being a devoted Lola figure to her grandnieces Aramis and Seylah, and grandnephew Cillian. Whether it was planning school events with Harmony, deep lunch conversations with Eli, “geeking out” about aquariums with Ricky, or spontaneous outings—Auntie Apple was always present, always giving, and always full of joy. Her love was unconditional, constant, and overflowing.
In October 2019, Framee met the love of her life and soulmate, Derek. She embraced his son Kenneth with open arms, surrounding him with endless love, warmth and encouragement. The love between Derek and Framee was genuinely transformative. Together, they chose to walk a journey of loyalty, faith and hope—hand in hand. Through this love, Framee blossomed into the most peaceful, vibrant, and radiant version of herself—a living example that love truly conquers all.
Framee taught us that kindness matters. That showing up, even in small ways, can change lives. That family is everything and that life is meant to be celebrated every single day.
Her language is love and joy. Her legacy is a life fully and beautifully lived.
Her memory will live on in how we treat one another, how we give, and how we love.
She will forever be the “Apple of Our Eye.”
