Frances Benito

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Frances Guzman Benito, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Frances was born in Barrigada, Guam on January 22, 1938, and passed on November 9, 2025, at the age of 87.

Both a hardworking nurse and an adventurous, fun-loving mother, Frances selflessly devoted her life to caring for others. Her compassion and care was always unwavering, her heart focused and steadfast for whomever may have needed it. Her “heart-to-heart” hugs were always sure to soothe any bad day, and her hands, though weathered from constant work, were always gentle.

Frances was a resident of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her husband John P. Benito, her parents Jesus and Natividad Guzman, her siblings Cecilia Davenport and Thomas Guzman, and her son John T. Benito.

Frances is survived by her three children: Monica Benito, Michelle Benito-Culbertson, and Pedro Benito, and her brothers Ed and Harry Guzman. Her legacy continues with her three grandchildren: Victoria Lizama, William Culbertson, and Nicole Culbertson.
