With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we share the passing of a truly special man. Born, March 13, 1951, Frederick Albert Baumann (aka Bapa, Fred, Big Fred, or Uncle Fred, or Egg Man, Milk Man, Brown Swiss, P.I.T.A.) passed quietly on March 17, 2026. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy built on devotion, humor, and unwavering support for those he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Beatriz “Bea” Baumann, whom he adored beyond measure. Their bond was the kind people hope for, steadfast, full of love, and always grounded in care for one another. He also leaves behind his children, Diana and Freddie (and his wife Melanie), and his two cherished granddaughters, Olivia and Sammie, who brought him endless pride and joy.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, easy humor, and steady presence, the kind of person who made everything feel a little more manageable just by being there. He was a provider in every sense of the word, an all-around good guy, and someone you could always count on. He had a way of making people laugh, often when they needed it most, and a quiet strength that anchored his family.
More than anything, he loved his family fiercely, and especially his Bea, always making sure she was cared for and protected. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, CA.
Reception to follow at the Baylor Baumann’s residence at 778 Baylor Avenue, Chula Vista.
