Happy birthday 🎂 genaro. You always be in my thoughts and prayers 🙏for the rest of my life. Some day I'll be there hanging out with you like the good old days 🎶😌. You always be remembered. 

Although I hadn’t seen him in a number of years, I enjoyed working with Genaro when he was with the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.  He was a great friend and partner.  As with many others, I knew him as “Chino” and we were partners at the old jail downtown and later at the Santee Sheriff’s Station.  Always a smile on his face and he always welcomed you into his circle.  You just gravitated towards him.  
One night he and I were beat partners and kind of goofing off at the fuel pumps.  Since I was just off training, I was assigned the old sergeants car and Chino challenged me to a race on the freeway.  Before we got in our cars, I said, "On your mark", and then "get set go" real fast so I could get a head start to my car.  He started laughing and that slowed him down just a bit.  His car was getting a bit worn so I barely beat him.  He commented on the radio (car to car) that my car was pretty quick.  The sergeant came on the air and asked him what he was referring to.  Chino just said, “Can’t tell you Sarge!”.  I just laughed!  Happy Birthday my friend and Rest In Peace.

Too young to leave, My Friend, working with you at San Ysidro laughing and playing jokes on our co-workers, hearing you yelling my name down the hall ( ZAVALA ) are my life time memories. Hi Guerrero's gamy! You may not remember of me but  I do remember all of you from years ago. I was at your house several times accompanying your father after climbing Mount Miguel, "Mother Miguel" like your father said. I had the honor of being his co-worker at CBP where I meet him. After we became very good friend he transmitted to me his love for hiking and together we climb all the climbable hills of San Diego. He was..IS... definitely a warrior and an excellent companion and friend, always full of joy.  A man who was always there for friends regardless of the time of day or night. Genaro Guerrero gave to the phrase "COUNT ON ME" a new and powerful sense. As long as there are mountains in San Diego the spirit of this incredible Warrior will not die!!!!..Lety Nieto

RIP uncle Gman  I always going to remembered with a BIG SMILE good coworker and friend. I remembered the first I saw him at the trolley station 🚉  since then was the trolley buddy. Always said he was a good tío (uncle) from work . C an’t believed   and I will  missed him...  thank you for all this years of friendship and condolences to the family and friends!!! 

My deepest sympathy.  Guerrero was kind and full of energy.  I will always remember our hiking adventures to several mountains he introduced me to and how he would say he grew up hiking these mountains.  I will miss my hiking buddy!  May he Rest In Peace in God's hand.

My heartfelt condolences to Genaro’s Mom, his sister, daughter & sons. Genaro was a simple and unique man in many ways, fun to be around. A rebel and yet true to his family,  friends & to his job. I had the pleasure of knowing him since the 70’s until his passing. He will be missed and remembered dearly.

I remember my first time meeting this great and amazing man in 2001.   I knocked on the door and said, "hello I'm James and I'm a friend of Michelle's."  He had a mean look on his face that I'll never forget....he said, "oh so you're here to see my daughter?"  I replied in a very shaky voice, "yes sir..." I was shaking in my shoes....he then put on the BIGGEST SMILE I had ever seen, and said, "I'm just playing man, cmon in."  Throughout the early 2000s I had the opportunity to get to know this man and his beautiful family.  Everytime I saw him, his smile was so big...eventually I worked at the port and I had the privilege to work side by side with this great man.  He taught me alot on the job and I will always remember his smile and how good he was at his job. 

Rest in Peace Mr. G; I will never forget you.  Thank you to Michelle for introducing me to this man and allowing me to have wonderful and amazing times with your family.  My thoughts are with you all and I wish nothing but love, happiness, and strength to all of you.   

He always enjoyed going hiking. It was his favorite thing to do.

Genaro was special, a very caring person. He had the biggest heart and was always smiling. Who would've thought we'd be celebrating your last birthday together in 2020. He will always be in our hearts. My condolences to the family.

Chino my friend, I cannot picture you without that tremendous smile on your face. It saddens me to know that smile will never be seen again. 

The sheriff's office attracts alot of unique personalities. You were one of those people. It was always a brighter day (or night) when working with you. Your beautiful soul and since of humor always made it a good day at work. 

It has been more than twenty years since I've worked along side of you. But seeing your photo brings back all those great feelings again. You had a unique way of solving problems. You made the world a better place. You taught me that it was OK to think outside the box and look at the little problems in life from different angles. 

I'm sad that your family has lost you. But they should rejoice in the fact that you were in thier lives.  You were a special gift to the world.  A true bright life. 

Farwell my friend until we meet again in a better place. You memory stills brings a smile to my face.

My deepest condolences to the Guerrero family. Chino and I worked at Central Detention Facility back when I came on with the SDSO in 1986. He was such a helpful and cheerful partner and great LE Brother. RIP Chino, your service has been fulfilled here on this earth Amigo! Until we meet again.

My heart is broken in so many pieces, but meet this wonderful man for 15 years it's the most beautiful thing that could happen to me.
There are so many happy moments that we spent together that they will remain forever in my memory.

Oh my heavy heart! What a beautiful soul!  Chino and I were beat partners in Santee.  We were in a shooting together. We were able to stop the shooter and were deeply bonded from that point on, like we shared a life changing event together.  What a special guy and good man! Blessings to all those he loved and had to leave, God Bless❣️

I’m saddened by the loss of this wonderful man.  Chino was my friend and sparring partner for the Police Olympics in the early 90’s.  I met him when he came to work at the El Cajon jail.  He was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.  He had a tremendous smile that lit up the room and a great sense of humor.  If you had the honor of knowing him, you couldn’t help but love him.  I love you my friend.  RIP,  Chino 🙏🏻

Condolences to Genaro's family and friends.  We were classmates at Sweetwater High.  He was always sweet and nice.  So very sorry to hear of his passing.  Sending love, hugs and prayers to his family 💗

Chino and I worked together in the 80’s at the Old Central Jail. He was such a people person, just an overall great guy. Always had a smile. Our careers went different ways but I’ll never forget him.

Once in a while you have someone in your life who brings a feeling of joy and love to the relationship.   Genaro was and is one of those special people.   He will always be in my memories as happiness.   I am sorry for your loss. 

Gino was a great personality, a wonderful partner at Central Jail, and always quick with a smile. May his memory be forever and the angels embrace him with all the glory he shared.

I first met Chino when I transferred to the Santee Sheriff's Station in 1987. Most of my jail deputy partners went to the Lemon Grove Station, so I didn't know anyone except Rick Bauman, Ed Fletcher, Mitch Reta, and Joe Maes in Santee.  Chino greeted me at the back door of the station, and we hit it off immediately. What a personality and that smile. He gave me a tour of the station, showed me to my locker, and introduced me to my FTO, Doug Tomkiel. Since that day, Chino and I became close. I met his family, and he met mine. Chino often attended my kids' birthday parties, family BBQs and family reunions. He was a favorite amongst my family. We went to parties together, hung out together, went to LPOA dances, and just had a blast. Chino was married to a beautiful lady, Terry. Terry would always smile at Chino's way of talking and his jokes. It was so much fun. Chino decided to change careers and went to U.S. Customs (CBP), where he made many more friends. Chino was one special guy. So many war stories to tell. Until we meet again, my loyal friend. 

Un gran personaje y una gran perdida para todos 

I worked with Gennaro at the SDSO in the 80's. What a great partner and friend he was.  Our LEO paths took different directions as do most large department employees do. He was funny and and always there to help anyone.  It was always fun to go to work knowing Genaro was working. I can tell by his family and friends that he touched a lot of lives and made this world a better place to live.

Loosing Genaro still hurts me a lot.  This awesome man & I shared a lot great moments together in & out of work.  He always had my back at SYS.  He was our #1 fan of our LEO BLUE WAVE men’s softball team.  Didn’t play but followed the team everywhere locally & outside the city to cheer the team.  We shared happy & sad moments together.  I know he would not like for me to cry & be sad for his lost.  I will celebrate his life instead.  My great friend & brother I will miss u 4 ever. I’ll keep on smiling like u always smiled at the world.  Goodbye for now my brother, see you down the road.
