He was a loving husband to his wife of 61 years, Gloria Sanchez and a devoted father to his daughter Monica and sons Gilberto, Juan, Arturo, and Gabriel. He was loved by his 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Gilberto was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico to Gilberto Sanchez and Maria Luisa Rodriguez the first of nine siblings. He was a family man loved by his nephews, nieces, and godchildren. He was extremely generous and impacted many lives in a variety of ways.
He was a hardworking man. His keen eye and work ethic led him to open his own business Sanchez Body Shop at a young age. He excelled at matching paint colors even without a formula. He had a reputation for succeeding where others failed. “Take it to Sanchez,” was a frequent phrase amongst numerous car dealerships in San Diego.
He will be remembered for his love of classic vehicles and music. He was passionate about his plants and beautiful canaries. He enjoyed the casinos due to his luck with horse races, slot machines, and football.
He will be missed by his family and friends. He is now in eternal peace resting with the Lord.
