

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Gloria was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Gloria will be remembered as an exceptional person.
Gloria’s life journey began on August 1, 1952. She first greeted the world in San Diego, California. Her parents' were Arnold and Guadalupe Leyva. She was raised in the city of Lemon Grove, California with three brothers Arnold, George and David and two sisters Amelia, MaryAnn and Yolanda. Gloria was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her family sharing many life experiences over the years.
Gloria graduated from Mt. Miguel High school in 1971. She furthered her education at Fullerton Community College which there she earned her teaching credentials.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Gloria was blessed with one daughter, Karin. Gloria worked hard to be a good mother to her daughter and she did her best to fulfill her needs, raising her daughter in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, Gloria was blessed with the gift two grandchildren Chelsea and Anthony (aka: Lil A.)
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Gloria enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including reading, collecting VHS movies, watching movies, crocheting blankets, collecting recipes even though she did not use them. She loved collecting free items such as samples at fair booths. She loved to eat for such a petite woman.
Gloria Jean Leyva left us on December 2, 2014. She passed away at home in the city of Oceanside, California. The cause of death was due to accidental causes. She is survived by her daughter Karin, her husband Anthony Valadez and their two children, Chelsea and Anthony. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Memorial Service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita, California on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Gloria was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California on Thursday, December 11, 2014.
So this is Gloria’s life, the sum of the woman that she became. Simply stated, Gloria was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Gloria leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Gloria Jean Leyva touched will always remember her with a smile.
