

Mr. Harold Eugene Mills passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on July 2, 2026. He was born in New Edinburg Arkansas on January 23, 1932, the middle son of Zell and Ollie Mae Mills, and grew-up in Warren Arkansas
At the age of 16, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for four years. In 1949 he married his childhood sweetheart, Margurite Miller. After the army Harold worked several different jobs including a cross-country truck driver.
In 1955, he moved his family to San Diego and work for over 41 years as a bus driver for San Diego Transit.
Harold loved classic country music and played the guitar and steel guitar. On weekends he would get together with friends to play and sing country songs. He also amassed a large collection of country music albums and CDs and enjoyed making cassette tape and CDs with a mixture of artists for himself. His other hobbies including camping and fishing and working on cars.
Harold built a life rooted in family, honesty and hard work. His memory will live on in the lessons he taught and the love he gave to his family.
He was preceded in death by Margurite his wife of 53 years, his brothers Kenneth and Robert and two sons, Johnny and Robert. He is survived by his children, Joyce Syphers (Robert), Alan Mills (Laura), Linda Collins (Jim), 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren
